My post today will be short and sweet like our week! For social studies, we focused on fire safety this week. We read stories and wrote about things firefighters do to help our community. On Friday, we had a fire drill and listened to firefighters talk about changing smoke detector batteries, finding a meeting spot in case of a fire, staying low in the house to avoid smoke and our favorite: STOP, DROP, AND ROLL!
Math was centered around number quantities, counting, and numerical order.
We continued seasons in science and made beautiful fall trees for our classroom.
Next week we will be exploring rocks. Please have your child bring in a rock in a ziplock baggie with his/her name on it. We will also be doing an activity that involves old wallpaper or wrapping paper. If you have any to donate, we sure could use some!
Thank you to everyone who responded to our room parent's email about Sign Up Genius. I hope you find it to be an easy way to get involved. Look for more opportunities in the future. I will also try to create a volunteer calendar on the blog for you to check when you signed up.
If you have not returned your conference time sheets (I guess I sent them out a bit early.) please let me know if you can make it.
Have a wonderful weekend!
