Last Friday was Earth Day! We spent time last week and this week reading stories that center around Earth Day as well as non-fiction books to teach us the many things we can do to help our environment.
We all had a great time on our field trip to see the play Beauty and the Beast. Thanks to Mrs. Simonich for accompanying us. Our May Watts kindergartners were well behaved and respectful audience members!
We had the chance to be a part of a respectful audience two more times this week as we enjoyed the second grade music program and the ecology clubs Earth Day presentation. Both were entertaining and educational!
Our letters last week and this week were V and J. We participated in reading writing and math activities centered around vegetables. We wrote beautiful spring messages on kites to decorate our room. Caring letters were written by all to Mother Earth sharing ways we want to help protect our environment.
Last week was our final Literacy Centers. Thanks to Mrs. Marron, Mrs. Simonich, and Mrs. Hallissey for leading the groups and to all who made the centers possible by volunteering.
We have a few weeks left of library check out. If your child has not brought back books recently, start looking for them. Our goal is to have no missing books at the last check in, May 25th.
Have a great weekend!
